Zhenjiang 镇江 is a prefectural city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, and an important port and scenic tourist city in the Yangtze River Delta of China approved by The State Council.
Zhenjiang, located in the southwest of Jiangsu province in East China, is a member city of the Nanjing metropolitan area and an important part of the Yangtze River Urban agglomeration. With Nanjing in the west, Changzhou in the south, and Yangzhou in the north, Zhenjiang is an important transportation center in east China. Danyang city is the only junction of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Zhenjiang Port, the third-largest port of 100 million tons in the Yangtze River basin, connects to the Jiangda Sea.
