2025 Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program of HUST

Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship—Silk Road Program. This initiative aims to strengthen educational ties between China and Belt and Road countries by offering fully funded undergraduate programs in various disciplines.​

Scholarship-Silk Road Program of HUST: Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive support, including:​

• Tuition Waiver: Full coverage of tuition fees.
• Accommodation: Free on-campus housing.
• Monthly Stipend: CNY 2,500 to cover living expenses.
• Medical Insurance: Comprehensive coverage valued at CNY 800 per year.​

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Nationality: Citizenship of one of the designated Belt and Road countries.
2. Health: Good physical and mental health.
3. Education: High school diploma holders under the age of 25 (born after September 1, 2000).
4. Language Proficiency: HSK Level 4 with a score of 180 or above. Applicants whose previous education was in Chinese or whose native language is Chinese are exempt from this requirement.​

📝 Application Requirements

Applicants need to prepare and submit the following documents:

Academic Documents

• High School Certificate: Graduation certificate or an expected graduation certificate issued by the current school.
• Transcripts: Academic records, notarized in Chinese or English if issued in another language.
• Personal Statement: A detailed introduction, understanding of China, reasons for choosing HUST, and study expectations.
• Personal Introduction Video: A one-minute video in English or Chinese.
• Language Proficiency Certificate: HSK certificate or equivalent.​

Non-Academic Documents

• Passport Copy: Clear scanned copy of the information page.
• Physical Examination Form: Downloadable from the HUST website. Applicants currently in China can provide a Health Certificate or Residence Permit instead.
• Certificate of Non-Criminal Record: Issued by the police or relevant authority.
• Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form: Complete online at the CSC website, select Program Category B, and use Agency No. 10487 for HUST.​

1. HUST Online Application: Register and complete the application at HUST Admission Portal.
2. CSC Application: Submit the Chinese Government Scholarship application at CSC Website, select Program Category B, and use Agency No. 10487 for HUST.​
