Admissions Guide of Liaoning Technical University 2025
Founded in 1949, Liaoning Technical University was designated as one of the 88 national key universities by the State Council in 1978. It was approved as one of the first master’s degree-granting institutions in 1981, and later authorized to confer doctoral degrees and conditionally enroll international students in 1993. In 1996, it was renamed from Fuxin Mining Institute to Liaoning Technical University. The university established its postdoctoral research station in 1999.
In 2012, the Liaoning Provincial Government and the former State Administration of Work Safety signed an agreement for joint development of the university. It was recognized as a key institution under the National Program for Basic Capacity Building of Universities in Central and Western China in 2013, selected as a key provincial domestic first-class university in
2019, and saw four disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology, Mining Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering) included in Liaoning’s new “Double First-Class” initiative in 2024.
The university features a distinctive multi-campus structure spanning two cities (Fuxin City and Huludao City) with three campuses: Zhonghua Road Campus, Yulong Campus, and Longwan Campus, covering a total area of 2830 mu. It has established advanced research institutes in Shenyang (Liaoning Technical University Advanced Research Institute), Ordos, and Urumqi.
As a high-level provincial university, it has been designated by the Ministry of Education to support Xinjiang Industrial College and Xinjiang Engineering College, while collaborating on the Ningxia Advanced Research Institute and Inner Mongolia Advanced Research Institute. The institution currently enrolls over 40,000 students, including more than 31,000 full-time doctoral candidates, postgraduates, undergraduates, and international students, supported by 2,098 faculty and staff members.
Focusing on its “Double First-Class” development, the university has developed a comprehensive disciplinary system prioritizing engineering while coordinating development across management, science, economics, and agriculture. It currently maintains 5 postdoctoral research stations, 8 first-level doctoral degree programs, 1 professional doctoral degree program, 21 first-level master’s degree programs, and 10 professional master’s degree programs.

Admissions Guide of Liaoning Technical University: Eligibility
Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens in good health both mentally and physically with a high school graduation certificate or equivalent.

Applicants must submit a valid Certificate of No Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate ) issued by the local public security authority.
