Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University is one of the first batch of pilot institutions for undergraduate-level vocational education in China. The university has three campuses, with the main campus located in Jinjiang City, known as the “Capital of Chinese Brands.” It is adjacent to the Shenhai Expressway and Jinjiang High-Speed Railway Station.

The university consists of 7 colleges, offering 20 undergraduate majors. These majors cover 8 professional groups, including petrochemical, intelligent manufacturing, new-generation information technology, automotive, green building, business, cultural and tourism sports, and art design. With a campus area of 1,089 mu and a total building area of 614,000 square meters, the university has 696 faculty members and over 12,000 students. The employment rate of graduates has always remained above 98%, and the university has been awarded the “Advanced Collective for Employment of College and Secondary School Graduates in Fujian Province” for two consecutive terms (once every three years), making it an important high-level technical and skilled talent training base in the region.

3. Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University Application Requirements

  1. Age and Nationality: Aged between 18 and 25 (as of September 1, 2025), physically and mentally healthy, and holding a valid ordinary foreign passport.
    • For overseas Chinese, including former Chinese citizens who have acquired foreign nationality and their foreign – national children, as well as foreign – national children of Chinese citizens, they must pass the nationality pre – review by the university during the admission stage and the nationality verification by the Exit – Entry Administration of the Chinese public security organs after enrollment. Those who fail to pass will be regarded as automatically giving up their application and subsequent admission or student status.
    • According to Article 5 of the Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China, if both or one of the parents is a Chinese citizen and settles abroad, and the person has foreign nationality at birth, they do not have Chinese nationality. Since 2021, when applying to enter the undergraduate program of our university as an international student, in addition to meeting other application requirements, they should also hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 years (inclusive) or more, and have a record of actually living abroad for more than 2 years in the recent 4 years (as of April 30 of the enrollment year). One year is calculated as 9 months of actual residence abroad, based on entry and exit stamps. Mainland (inland) China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents who apply to enter the undergraduate program of our university as international students after immigrating and obtaining foreign nationality should also meet this requirement.
  2. Pass the university’s entrance evaluation.
  3. Have the financial ability to afford study, living, and international travel expenses in China (about 30,000 yuan per year).

4. Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University Application Materials

  1. Application Form for International Students Studying in QVTU.
  2. Scanned copy of the passport’s first page (ordinary passport with an expiration date after March 31, 2025).
  3. Birth certificate.
  4. Parents’ identity documents.
  5. High school graduation certificate or pre – graduation certificate, with the school seal.
    • High school graduation certificates must be authenticated by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin.
    • Students applying with a pre – graduation certificate must obtain the graduation certificate before September 2025 and complete the above – mentioned degree authentication.
    • Graduation certificates obtained in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions) do not need to be authenticated.
    • At the time of enrollment, the original graduation certificate and authentication materials must be provided for inspection.
  6. Official high – school transcripts with the school seal.
    • New high – school graduates should submit transcripts of previous years.
    • Graduated high – school students should submit complete high – school transcripts.
    • Malaysian students’ application qualifications: Pass the UEC/A – level/STPM of the Chinese – independent high – school unified examination with passing grades.
  7. English/Chinese proficiency certificates.
    • Applicants whose teaching language in high school was English can use the teaching – language certificate issued by the high school as a substitute. Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from submitting English language proficiency certificates.
    • Applicants whose teaching language in high school was Chinese can use the teaching – language certificate issued by the high school as a substitute. If they have an HSK certificate, they need to provide the original and a copy.
  8. Personal statement. No less than 500 words, including self – introduction, study experience, study goals, and plans in China. Applicants for English – taught programs should write in English.
  9. Scanned copy of the “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” and related original reports, filled in Chinese or English and stamped by the hospital. The validity period of the physical examination is 6 months.
  10. Scanned copy of the “Statement of Financial Support for International Students of Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University” and its supporting materials, filled in Chinese or English. Provide a bank deposit certificate sufficient to cover study, living, and international travel expenses during the study period in China, as well as scanned copies of the passport or identity documents of the financial guarantor (limited to the applicant himself/herself or relatives). Applicants for scholarships also need to submit a statement of financial support.
  11. No – criminal – record certificate. Applicants must submit a valid no – criminal – record certificate issued by the local public security organs, usually within 6 months before the application date.

5. Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University Application Process

The university will conduct a preliminary review of the application materials provided by the applicants.

  1. Application Steps
    • Submit Application: Pack and send the application materials to the email address: ico@qvtu.edu.cn.
    • Eligibility Review and Entrance Test: Within two weeks after submitting the application, the university will inform the applicant of the eligibility review results and entrance interview arrangements. The interview score must be qualified to be eligible for admission. The interview score is not included in the scholarship assessment. If there is no reply, please contact us actively (ico@qvtu.edu.cn).
    • Pre – admission Notice and Registration Fee Payment: After the admission process is completed, the university will issue a pre – admission notice. After receiving the pre – admission notice, please pay the registration fee in a timely manner (the registration fee is non – refundable) and send a scanned copy of the remittance slip to the school’s email address (ico@qvtu.edu.cn. Please indicate your name, contact information, and other basic information in the email).
    • Material Submission and Payment: The university will send scanned copies of the “Admission Notice” and the “Application Form for Chinese Visa for Foreign Students” (JW202 form) to your email. After receiving them, immediately remit the bed reservation fee to the school’s bank account and send a scanned copy of the remittance slip to the school’s email address (ico@qvtu.edu.cn. Please indicate your name, contact information, and other basic information in the email). After receiving the bed reservation fee, the university will mail the original “Admission Notice” and “Application Form for Chinese Visa for Foreign Students” (JW202 form) to you. Please remit the tuition fee to the school’s bank account within the specified time and send a scanned copy of the remittance slip to the school’s email address (ico@qvtu.edu.cn. Please indicate your name, contact information, and other basic information in the email).
    • Apply for a Chinese Visa: International students need to apply for a Chinese visa at the consular department of the Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country (please email to inform which consulate you are applying at and provide the full name of the consulate). The application materials include a valid passport, admission notice, Chinese visa application form (JW202 form), and physical examination form.
    • Registration: Please bring living expenses, passport, “Admission Notice”, “Application Form for Chinese Visa for Foreign Students” (JW202), physical examination form (students who had a physical examination overseas need to have another physical examination), and 10 recent 2 – inch photos, and report to the university for registration on the date specified in the “Admission Notice”. To avoid visa – expiration issues, please do not enter China too early and report to the university as soon as possible after arriving in China.
  2. Visa and Insurance
    • Visa: Admitted students must apply for a study visa to China at the Chinese embassy with the admission notice and the “Application Form for Chinese Visa for Studying in China” (JW202). Students with a study period of more than 6 months must apply for an X1 visa and convert it into a study residence permit at the International Students’ Office within 30 days after arriving in China.
    • Insurance: According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, international students studying in China must purchase medical insurance in China. Otherwise, the university will not handle the registration procedures.
  3. Precautions: This admissions work is directly carried out by the university and is not authorized to any institutions, enterprises, or individuals in the form of quota reservation, training, or paid consultation. Please be cautious in identifying false information.
