Brief Introduction
Located in the north of Dali Ancient City in Dali Prefecture 大理, Yunnan Province 云南省, China, The Chongsheng Temple, and The Three-Pogoda Culture Tourist Area are a national 5A-level tourist attraction integrating Cangshan and Erhai scenery, cultural relics, Buddhist culture 佛教文化, and leisure. The three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple in the scenic area are the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council, which are the symbols and symbols of Dali.
Chongsheng Temple faces Erhai Lake 洱海 in the east and Cangshan Mountain 苍山 in the west. It is located one kilometer north of the ancient city of Dali, Yunnan Province, at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, and on the shore of Erhai Lake. In history, nine Dali emperors became monks in Chongsheng Temple, which was called “Tianlong Temple 天龙寺” in Jin Yong’s 金庸 martial arts novel “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils 天龙八部“.
In the 1990s, the reconstruction of Chongsheng Temple was put on the agenda. On August 8, 2003, the reconstruction project started. On April 22, 2005, the Chongsheng Temple reconstruction project with a total investment of 182 million yuan was completed. The Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas Cultural Tourism Area is a national AAAAA tourist attraction.

Architectures
The three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple are composed of one big and two small pagodas. The big tower is called Qianxun Pagoda 千寻塔.
The distance between Qianxun Pagoda and the two small towers in the north and south is 70 meters, which is a tripod. Qianxun Pagoda is 69.13 meters high and 9.9 meters wide at the bottom. It is a square hollow brick pagoda with dense eaves. It has 16 levels in total. It is one of the tallest pagodas in China. It is a typical building of the Tang Dynasty with Xi’an Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi’an Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Its shape is similar to Xi’an Small Wild Goose Pagoda. It is one of the typical pagodas of the Tang Dynasty. The inner wall of the tower body is vertically connected up and down, with wooden stairs.
On the Dapeng Golden winged Bird Square 大鹏金翅鸟广场 in front of the Chongsheng Temple gate, a 6.9-meter high double-sided statue of Dapeng Golden winged Bird was cast. It is based on the golden-winged bird unearthed from the Three Towers. The original is 18.5 cm high and 125 g in net weight. This statue has been reproduced and enlarged. The roc golden-winged bird perches on a blooming lotus flower. Its head is raised and its neck is drawn. Its head is decorated with a crest. Its head and tail feathers are bent to form a flame, and its tail feathers are inlaid with five crystal beads.
The Nanzhao Jianji Bell 南诏建极大钟 was cast in the 12th year of Nanzhao Jianji, hence its name. When Hong Kong returned to China in 1997, the Great Bell Tower was rebuilt and the Great Bell was recast in Nanzhao. It was designed by Beijing Ancient Bell Museum according to historical data and cast by Nanjing Chenguang Machine Factory. The recast Jianji Big Bell is divided into upper and lower layers, which is the largest bell in Yunnan Province.
In 1999, the Yutong Guanyin Hall 雨铜观音殿 was expanded and rebuilt on the original site, with a height of 29.99 meters, an area of 8100 square meters, and a building area of 4384 square meters. On the 2.2 meters-high white marble in the center of the hall, there is a 1.8-meter gold-plated copper lotus seat, on which stands an 8.6-meter-high copper-plated rain bronze Guanyin.
Artistic characteristics
The main structure of building is mainly steel-concrete structure. The doors and windows of the arch and the detailed decoration are all carved with superior Chinese toon wood. The central axis building adopts the highest standard golden dragon, golden phoenix, lotus, and happy color. The secondary axis building adopts solemn and elegant dark purple color. The inner courtyard of the gallery adopts lively and humorous Su-style color 苏式色彩.
The building community uses fine white marble and grass stone to pave the wall and ground and support the steps. The pillar foundation Buddha platform is made of marble white marble. The stones in the whole community are neat and magnificent, reflecting the characteristics of marble culture.
