Introduction to Xian University of Science and Technology (XUST)

XUST, located in the historic city of Xi’an, China, boasts two campuses: Lintong and Yanta. The Yanta Campus neighbors the iconic 1,300-year-old Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, while the Lintong Campus is just 10 minutes from the Terracotta Warriors. Known for its lush, garden-like environment, XUST is a national key university jointly supported by the Chinese government and Shaanxi Province.

Established in 1958, it offers 60 undergraduate programs, 26 master’s programs, and 7 doctoral programs, with strengths in mining engineering, safety science, civil engineering, and computer science. The university hosts over 25,000 students and has partnerships with 60+ global institutions.

Since 2017, XUST has expanded its international outreach through the International Education College, welcoming 340+ students from 30+ countries. Its programs span language training, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies, emphasizing China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.

2025 International Student Programs

1. Chinese Language Preparatory Program

Program Overview:
Intensive courses (20+ hours/week) in Chinese language (HSK 4 required), listening, speaking, writing, and Chinese culture. Prepares students for undergraduate studies.
Eligibility:
- Non-Chinese citizens aged 18–25.
- High school diploma with ≥60% average.
- Zero Chinese proficiency accepted.
Fees (RMB/year):
- Tuition: 13,000
- Accommodation: 3,000 (triple room)
- Insurance: 800; Visa: 400

2. Bachelor’s in Chinese Language & Literature (4 Years)

Program Highlights:
- Zero Chinese proficiency required.

- Non-Chinese citizens aged 18–22.
- High school diploma with ≥60% average.

- Accommodation: 3,000 (triple room)
Scholarships:
- Belt and Road Scholarship: Available for Year 1; Years 2–4 based on academic performance.
  - 1st Prize: Top 20% – Full tuition waiver + 10,000 RMB stipend.
  - 2nd Prize: Top 20–40% – Full tuition waiver.
  - 3rd Prize: Top 40–60% – 50% tuition waiver.

3. Master’s Programs (3 Years)

- Accommodation: 3,000 (triple room)
Scholarships:
- Full tuition waiver + 1,500 RMB/month stipend (conditional on attendance ≥90%, passing exams).

- March 1–April 1, 2025: Online application
- April 25: Interviews
- May 10: Admission results
Intake: September 2025

4. Doctoral Programs (4 Years)
