I was doing my final A-level exams last year, and I was down to my last set of exams; English Language & Literature. I finished the exam and it all went well, I was very confident that I’d get my predicted B. I sat tired after five hours of exams and the lady came round collecting the papers in.
She picked up my paper and moved on. I collected my various texts and sheets together and left the exam hall. It was over! When I got home I unpacked my bag to get my stuff out and I was horrified at what I saw; my answer paper. My entire world turned upside down. The examiners had taken the wrong papers in and I stupidly didn’t realise.
As a result, my firm and insurance uni choices didn’t take me. I went into clearing and was generally unaccepted. I went to a very reputable school, and my head of year was afraid the school would lose its reputation and didn’t feel that he could help me. All my friends were off to uni and everyone was celebrating – except me.

Canadian medical schools follow the US model of requiring candidates to have graduated from a college or university with a baccalaureate degree. If an international student is currently in a MBBS program but has completed just the first 2 years, it might be possible to re-start in an undergraduate B.Sc. program in Canada. Do not transfer or take advanced placement from courses already taken.
Pursue the typical pre-med program and acquire the requisite courses in biology, chemistry, physics, etc., for application to medical school. Take and write the MCAT. Get top grades and score exceptionally well in the MCAT since the resume or vitae must show having been in another post-secondary school before immigrating to Canada. You should be considered just like any other graduating Canadian medical school applicant.
On the other hand, if the education has already entered the third year or later, then there is no advantage to transfer. Compete the MBBS program and then immigrate to Canada. Take and pass the requisite examinations to qualify for application to a residency training program and subsequent licensing in Canada. Being a Permanent Resident of Canada has some advantages.
