Campus and Location
Tsinghua University: The 460-hectare campus is located in Haidian District, northwest Beijing. It features a unique blend of traditional Chinese garden architecture and modern facilities. The campus includes a large lake (Riverside), ancient temples, and modern teaching buildings. Tsinghua campus is quieter and more expansive than PKU, with more green space and sports facilities.
Peking University: The 270-hectare Yan Yuan campus was originally the site of Yenching University, an American missionary university founded in 1919. The campus retains much of its historic character with traditional Chinese palace-style architecture, rock gardens, and the famous Weiming Lake. PKU campus is more compact and centrally located, with easier access to downtown Beijing.
