Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) is a provincial-level key university jointly managed by the Jiangsu Provincial government and the Ministry of Education. It evolved into Nanjing Forestry College in 1952 from the forestry departments of Central University (founded in 1902) and Nanjing University (founded in 1910). In 1955, the forestry departments of Wuhan University, Nanchang University and Hubei Agricultural College were merged. Since 1985, it has received its current name. In 2017, our university entered the national “double first-class” university project list.

Currently, NFU has 22 faculties offering a rich curriculum covering a wide range of areas, with a particular emphasis on the study of resources, ecology and the environment. In the fourth round of National Discipline Evaluation (2017), the three disciplines of forestry engineering, forestry and landscape architecture were rated as A-level, ranking first among national forestry universities and institutions of higher learning in Jiangsu Province. Our college has authorized 8 mobile post-doctoral mobile sites, 46 doctoral programs, 115 master’s degree authorization points, 27 professional degree authorization categories or fields, and 74 undergraduate majors. The total number of students is more than 30,000, including 6200 students with master’s degree, doctor’s degree and foreign students. The university has more than 2,050 faculty members, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 181 doctoral supervisors and 700 teachers with senior titles.

Nanjing Forestry University QUALIFICATION

1.       Applicants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and Nanjing Forestry University rules.

2.       Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport in compliance with the provisions of Nationality Law of the People’s republic of China, under the age of 35 in general, and have a bachelor degree or have the equivalent educational background of a bachelor degree.

3.       Applicants should have a good command of English or Chinese and have ability to take course in English or Chinese.

4.       According to the relevant regulations of Chinese Ministry of Education, former residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have emigrated to other countries and are applying as international students, must present valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2020 and proof of residence abroad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

5.       According to the relevant regulations of Chinese Ministry of Education, applicants whose both or one of parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, having foreign nationality at birth, not having Chinese nationality, when applying as international students, must present valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30,2020, along with proof of residence broad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

-Copy of the page with personal information in the passport (ordinary passport)

-Highest Education Diploma (notarized photocopy or original one) or Certificate of expected graduate date from the University studying currently

-Notarized transcripts

– Two recommendation letters from professors

-Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and the Report on Blood Examination.

-The results of TOEFL（80+）, IELTS（6.0+）, or HSK (4+), or English /Chinese Proficiency Certificates for the applicant whose educational language is not English or Chinese

-Certificate from the financial guarantor of the applicant and bank statement

-Certificate of Non-criminal record

-Study plan (800 words in English or Chinese)

-Applicants(i)whose both or one of parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, having foreign nationality at birth, not having Chinese nationality, or (ii) who formerly were residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and have emigrated to other countries, should present: Valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2020; Birth certificate and nationality proof of both parents at the time of applicant’s birth, including proof of their permanent residency abroad; Proof of cancellation of Chinese Nationality (required for applicants(ii));Proof of residence abroad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).
