As a student focusing on your major will give you the knowledge which you need to seek a job after graduation. At the same time, China has many excellent opportunities to work after graduation.
So during your study, I believe that you have to focus on two things and no more.

But, if you really need a job to earn money and get more work experience, you can find a part-time job when you study in China. and there is something you need to know.
International students are restricted to work only after having spent 12 months in China
They are not allowed to take up a job before completing 12 months in China. While you have an excellent opportunity after your diploma, bachelor, master, or Ph.D. to work or continue your study on scholarships. Accordingly, The Measures for the Administration of Work-Study for International Students in Institutions of Higher Learning released by the Chinese Ministry of Education presents now, international students with the right to work and study in China, meanwhile, they allow international students to work and study, but they have to work part-time jobs, not full-time jobs.
The new policy authorizes international students who finished their first year of studying at their universities to work on and off campus for not more than some hours per week.
International students can work in China for no more than 8 hours per week and 40 hours a month
They are not authorized to initiate part-time work before they have lived in China for one year. And I think this because the Chinese government needs international students to be familiar with Chinese culture and language.
To be a legal person and to follow the roles in China is very important, and international students who are looking for a part-time job can legally do work for eight hours per week and 40 hours a month while, not more than this, and you may get a salary of 1000-5000 Yuan per month based on work.
But for all of these, as mentioned before, you must finish your first year of study.
Also, to get a part-time job in China, you have to get an agreement from your international office teachers. They will check your classes and schedule and confirm that you do not miss your classes because studying is more important than doing a part-time job.
And they allow you to do, but you have to be more curious and care more about your study. It would help if you always remembered the purpose of coming to China; you come to study your major and return home with your graduation certificate to make your family proud of you and happy.
Work in China during winter and summer vacation
However, during winter and summer vacation, the working hours increase to 16 hours a week and 80 hours a month. Still, the students are not allowed to work in a specific job for safety, such as toxic, hazardous, or dangerous work and the students should have medical insurance to cover their study and part-time work.
The student can have a part-time teaching job according to his mother language, like Arabic, German, Spanish, English, etc., and he can work as modeling or translator; all of these jobs can give good pay and respect. Working as a translator from your mother language to the Chinese language will add more experience to your language and will improve your Chinese conversation.
The most suitable option for an international student to work in China is working on campus
Regarding the work on campus, international students can work as teachers, researchers, administrative assistants, and school community service in the international student’s office to help the teachers in work to guide new international students to come to the campus and make their life easy.
Another option for an international student studying in China is to work as a research assistant at their home university. This would be the most suitable option for an international student to work in China because living at the university and working for the professor helps them with their research.

Hold a valid resident permit of more than six months and Sign a contract before starting a job
While taking a part-time job, the student should hold a valid resident permit of more than six months. Before getting into the part-time job, the student should have good academic performance and good behavior and attendance so that he will be allowed to start his part-time work.
Also, the international student needs to sign a contract before starting a job and give the university a copy of the contract. While if the student is founded working more hours than permitted by his school, then he will be punished according to Chinese law.
On the other side, if the international student changes part-time job, the student shall give a report with a new contract to the university and Department of the Public Security Bureau and explain the reason behind this within ten days. While if his contract is terminated for any reason, he must go to the Department of the Public Security Bureau and give them a report within ten days.
You must receive authorization from their responsible teachers in their university and the Chinese immigration officers.
