Harbin Engineering University (HEU in short), founded in 1953, is located in Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province, which is known for its cold winters and is heralded as the lce City for its winter tourism and recreation, Harbin Engineering University is listed in the first batch of “211 Project” key universities, “the National Excellent Engineers Plan” key universities, and the national “Double First-Class” construction universities. In 2017, it passed the Higher General Education Accreditation for International Students in China.
In the field of ship building, ocean and nuclear engineering, HEU has a significant advanced technology and technical background including underwater robots, shipanti-rolling, marine power, integrated navigation, underwater acoustic positioning nuclear power simulation and large ship simulation ranking highly both domestically and abroad, becoming an important personnel training and scientific research base inthe felds of “SMON” (Shipbuilding Engineering, Marine Equipment Development, Ocean Exploration and Nuclear Energy Application) in China.
Adhering to the principle of internationalization and open education, Harbin Engineering University has established good cooperative relations with morethan 100 well-known universities, research institutions and enterprises from 25countries, including the United Kingdom, Norway, Japan and Russia. etc. HEU has established a “Confucius Institute” jointly with the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University in Ukraine. HEU is a commissioned training institution for Chinese Government Scholarship Programs like High-Level Postgraduate Program, the “Silk Road” Program, the arine Scholarship of China, and the Atomic Energy Scholarship of China. In addition, HEU is one of the institutions of IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme, providing International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and HEU International Student Scholarship
