
2025 SISU-SHANGHAI MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
I.SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE:
Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarships (Type A & B) is only available to new applicants who apply for Undergraduate, Master, and Doctoral degree programs.
Type A (Full scholarship): Available only for graduate programs. Covers tuition fees and accommodation fees during the regular years of study, and provides comprehensive insurance. Besides, the scholarship of living cost is given out every month after enrollment to the university, to M.D. students RMB 3000 per month, and to Ph.D. students RMB 3500 per month.
Type B (Partial scholarship): Available both for undergraduate and graduate programs. Covers tuition fee during the regular years of study and fee of comprehensive insurance.
II. AVAILABLE MAJORS FOR APPLYING:
NOT for Undergraduate program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Hongkou Campus)
NOT for all Professional Master’s Degree programs;
Other Degree programs are available to apply.
III. ELIGIBILITY:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
2. Applicants for undergraduate programs should be high school graduates and not older than 25 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program.
Applicants for master’s programs should have obtained a bachelor’s degree and not be older than 35 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program;
Applicants for doctoral studies should have obtained a master’s degree and not be older than 40 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program;
3. Applicants should be diligent and hardworking with outstanding academic achievements and good attendance records.
4. Applicants should not be holding any other scholarships.
It is necessary to meet the other requirements of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

Step 2:Pay the application fee
Undergraduate programs at Hongkou campus: 450 RMB or overseas transfer of 75 USD.
Undergraduate programs at Songjiang campus: 750 RMB or overseas transfer of 125 USD.
Master and Doctoral programs: 800 RMB or overseas transfer of 130 USD.

1. Pay it directly in the SISU online application system
2. Pay through bank transfer, and upload the payment voucher to SISU online application system.

Step 3: Confirm submission of SISU online application
VI. ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
1. After submission of online application, please log in to your SISU online application account to track your application status. During the application review stage, if you need to modify or supplement the application materials, SISU will contact the applicants by email or phone call. Please keep your cell phone on and frequently check your email.
2. A written examination will be organized by SISU from April of 2025, and those who pass the written examination will be eligible to enter the interview. Please make sure your email address is correct and check your email regularly to avoid missing IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS such as the arrangement of examination. If failure to check the notifications in time affects the admission results, the applicant shall be solely responsible.
Please note: Each applicant has only one chance to take the entrance examination, and the examination is only for the “The First Major Applying” in the “Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship Application Form”.
3. SISU will organize scholarship evaluation for scholarship applicants who pass the entrance examination.

VII. IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Applicants must upload the Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship when applying online at SISU online application system. Failure to upload the Application form will be considered a waiver for SGS scholarship application.
2. Scholarship recipients are required to register at SISU on the date specified on the admission notice. Students who arrive late without approval in advance will not have their Scholarship reserved;For newly enrolled scholarship students who apply for extension of admission, scholarship eligibility will not be reserved.
Scholarship recipients shall not change their host university, the field of study, or duration of the study;
Scholarship recipients must participate in annual reviews for scholarships. Students who fail to pass the annual review will have their scholarships suspended or canceled.
3. All application documents must have original documents in preparation for admission inspection. The scholarship will be revoked for those who provide a false document.
