The Chinese Government Scholarship Program provides full scholarship to outstanding international students to study in Chinese universities. It is open for application from a selected number of provincial administrative departments of education and Chinese universities.
I. Supported Student Categories, Duration and Instruction Language
1.Supported Student Categories: Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD candidates.
2.Supporting Duration: 2 to 4 years, depending on the program.
3.Instruction Language: Most programs are taught in Chinese. Bachelor programs must be taught in
Chinese.
4.Country of origin: South-East Asian countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia), Pacific Island
countries (Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu), Indian Ocean Rim countries (Sri Lanka, Mauritius,
Pakistan, Bangladesh) and other countries participating the Belt and Road Initiative.
II. Scholarship Coverage:
Tuition, accommodation, living stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance
1.Tuition is covered.
2.Accommodation fee: According to regulations, all students supported by the Chinese Government
Scholarships must live on campus. OUC will provide rooms for free, generally one bed in twin
rooms.
3.Living Stipend is provided: 2,500 RMB/month for Bachelor’s candidates; 3,000 RMB/month for
Master’s candidates; 3,500 RMB/month for PhD candidates.
4.Comprehensive medical insurance is provided.
Notes: applicants should apply within the stipulated time. The duration of China Scholarship Council
for online application is from now until May 15, 2025.
