Ⅰ Profile of Ningxia
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which is called Ning for short, with Yinchuan as its capital city, is located in the middle part of China and it is one of the five autonomous regions in China. Along the ancient “Silk Road,” Ningxia was once the important thoroughfare for transportation and trade in the East and West of China. As the Yellow River winds through the region, the ancient Yellow River Civilization was cradled here long ago. As early as thirty thousand years ago, Ningxia had the footprints of human existence. In 1038 AD, Li Yuanhao, the leader of Dangxiang (One of China’s ethnic minorities), established the Xixia Dynasty in here, and after hundreds of years, Xixia culture was formed. Here, the Silk Road culture, the Xixia culture, the Islamic culture and other cultures clashed and blended. Shapotou – the so-called China’s top ten most fun attractions, Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty – the eighth wonder of the world, rich Islamic style, forceful desert scenery, and beautiful waters beyond the Great Wall, together lay out a piece of splendid picture of Ningxia.
II Introduction to the university
Ningxia Normal University is located in Guyuan – a famous historical city at the foothills of Liupanshan in southern Ningxia. It is the only four-year undergraduate normal university in Ningxia. Under the jurisdiction of the Ningxia People’s Government, it is jointly built by Ningxia Education Department and Guyuan Municipal Government.
The university now has two campuses, with a total area of 928,000 square meters, and a total building area of 177,877 square meters. Of all the 515 staffs, 155 are professors, accounting for 41.55% of the 373 full-time teachers in total. Sixteen teachers have got doctor’s degrees and 245 have master’s degrees. In total, the teachers who have obtained master’s degrees or above accounts for 69% of the total number of the full-time teachers.
The university has set up training sites for post-graduates, with seven directions of subjects as follows: Chinese, Math, English, Politics, Physics, Chemistry, and Elementary Education. And for undergraduates, there are 26 majors in the following eight disciplines: Education, Literature, History, Science, Technology, Art, Law and Management.
The university actively promotes academic cooperation with other universities: It has been jointly running programs with Ningxia University and has kept good relations of exchanges and cooperation with Northeast Normal University, Qufu Normal University, Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Qinghai University, Southeast University in Sri Lanka, Sharda University in India, East Thames College in the United Kingdom, Woosong University in South Korea, and other colleges and universities at home and abroad; it also established a counterpart support relationship with Hubei University.

ⅤApplication for Admission
1、Application Instructions
Ningxia Normal University has spring and autumn semesters for foreign students in each academic year.
The enrollment time is based on the school calendar. Students should register in early March for the spring semester and in early September for the autumn semester. Application materials should be submitted three months in advance.
2、Requirements
Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports, in good health and of good conduct. Applicants are supposed to abide by Chinese laws and regulations of Ningxia Normal University and respect the local customs and habits in China.
3、Admission Documents
① For application forma for foreign students, please contact with the local Chinese embassy.
For the postal address, your own home address and phone number abroad must be submitted.
For resume, attach additional sheets if needed.

4、Admission Procedures
① Foreign students who meet the prescribed requirements could email the Application Forms for Foreign Students to the department of international exchange and cooperation of Ningxia Normal University. Email: [email protected]
② Admitted, matters of the admission notice of Ningxia Normal University and the Application Form for Foreign Students (JW202 form for short) will be handled by Ningxia Normal University and be mailed to the applicant.
③ Foreign students apply for X2 visas at Chinese embassies with JW202 Forms, the admission letters from Ningxia Normal University, health examination certificates as well as passports.
④ Applicants who have obtained the study visa should register within the time required.
5、Expense Standard
① Tuition and accommodation fee are waived.
② Textbooks fee and other fee will be charged at actual cost.

一、宁夏简介

二、学校简介
宁夏师范学院坐落于宁夏南部六盘山下历史名城——固原市，是宁夏唯一一所师范类本科院校。学校隶属自治区人民政府管理，是自治区教育厅和固原市政府共建单位。
学校现有两个校区，总占地面积928000平方米，总校舍建筑面积177877平方米。教职工515人，其中专任教师373人，教授、副教授155人，占专任教师总数的41.55%，有博士16人，硕士245人，硕士及以上学位的教师占专任教师总数的69%。
学校设有教育硕士语文、数学、英语、思想政治、物理、化学、小学教育7个学科方向研究生培养点，有教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、艺术学、法学、管理学8个学科门类26个本科专业。

五、留学申请
1、申请须知
宁夏师范学院分春、秋两季招收来华留学生。
学生报到注册时间根据学校校历时间而定，春季学期在3月初开学，秋季学期在9月初开学。申请留学宁夏师范学院的学生需提前三个月提交申请材料。
2、申请条件
申请者须为持有效外国护照的非中国籍公民，身体健康，品行良好，愿意遵守中国法律和宁夏师范学院的各项规章制度，尊重中国和宁夏各族人民的风俗习惯。

“通讯地址”一栏，请务必填写学生本国家庭住址与联系电话；

4、申请程序
① 凡符合上述条件的外国人，可直接向宁夏师范学院对外合作交流处电子邮箱发送申请“宁夏师范学院外国留学生学习申请表”。邮箱：[email protected]。
② 已被学校录取，学院会为申请人办理“宁夏师范学院录取通知书”和“外国来华留学人员申请表”（简称JW202表），并将此两份文件发给申请者本人。
③ 学生本人持JW202表、“宁夏师范学院录取通知书”、“外国人体格检查记录”及本人护照等申请材料到中国驻外使馆办理来华学习X2签证。
④ 取得学习签证后，申请人应在“宁夏师范学院录取通知书”中规定的时间内到校报到。
