1、Introduction
Nanjing Municipal Government has set up the “Nanjing Municipal Government Scholarship” for international students in order to promote the development of higher education of International students in the city of Nanjing, to further improve the profile of Nanjing to the world, and to make Nanjing a preferred city for international students. This scholarship will be provided to outstanding overseas students or scholars to undertake full time study in universities and colleges of Nanjing. It will also include those non-degree program students and exchange students.
2、Categories of Applicants
(1) Excellent foreign students who wish to undertake full time study in universities and colleges in the city of Nanjing.
(2) Non-degree program students and exchange students who wish to undertake full time language program in universities and colleges in the city of Nanjing.
3、Criteria & Eligibility
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
(2) Education background and age limit:
Applicants for undergraduate programs must have senior high school diploma with a good academic performance and be under the age of 30.
Applicants for master’s degree programs must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
(3) Applicants must agree to obey the relevant laws of China and meet the admission requirements of the host universities or colleges.
(4) Applicants must have a good academic record.
(5) Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Chinese government, local governments or other organizations simultaneously.

(1) 10000RMB/Year for Bachelor’s Degree Program Students
(2) 20000RMB/Year for Master’s Degree Program Students

6、Application Procedures
(1) Go on the website: https://njfu.17gz.org/
(2) Upload the photo and fill in the Application Form.
(3) Print the Application Form, sign it, and then mail it with notarized copies of the relevant documents to the College of International Education of Nanjing Forestry University (Mailing Address: Please find it in Contact); and send e-copies of relevant original documents to [email protected].
7、Application Documents
The applicants must fill in and submit the following documents truly, correctly and completely:
(1) Two Recommendation Letters （written in Chinese or English）;
Applicants for the graduate programs must submit two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor.
(2) Notarized highest diploma;
Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
(3) Academic transcripts （written in Chinese or English）;
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
(4) A Study Plan or Research Proposal （written in Chinese or English）;
This should be a minimum of 800 words for undergraduate students, 1000 words for master’s students, and 2000 words for doctoral students.
(5) Copy of the passport photo page;
(6) Copy of HSK-4 certificate or above with the score of 180+(no less than 60 for each part, for Chinese-taught programs);
Copy of IELTS 6.0+，TOEFL 80+，Duolingo 95+ or English Medium Instruction (non-English speaking countries, for English-taught programs)
(7) A Bank Statement with the balance no less than the total amount of tuition, dormitory and living expenses at NJFU. It shall be in the name of applicant himself/herself, mother, father, or other guardians;
(8) Medical Report (Notarized English or Chinese translation). The physical examinations must cover all the items listed on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months;
(9) Certificate of Non-criminal record (Notarized English or Chinese translation);
(10) Applicants(i)whose both or one of parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, having foreign nationality at birth, not having Chinese nationality, or (ii) who formerly were residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and have emigrated to other countries, should present: Valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2021; Birth certificate and nationality proof of both parents at the time of applicant’s birth, including proof of their permanent residency abroad; Proof of cancellation of Chinese Nationality (required for applicants(ii));Proof of residence abroad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2021 to April 30, 2025 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).
(11) Other supporting materials (if available, such as certificates of awards and training, etc.).
8、Admission
(1) The Review Panel from Nanjing Forestry University will review the application package and decide the nominated candidates.
(2) The result will be released on our official website (https://ieceng.njfu.edu.cn/) before July 15th.
(3) The admission package, including the Admission Notice, the Confirmation Form for Studying in China (JW202) will be mailed to the enrolled students before July 31st.
9、Registration
(1) Scholarship students must register within the set time with original Admission Notice.
(2) Scholarship students who are unable to register on time must obtain permission from the College of International Education of NJFU. Those who fail to register without the prior consent from NJFU will be considered as voluntarily giving up the scholarship and the scholarship will be automatically terminated. Cost generated by students’ early arrivals should be covered by students themselves.
10、Annual Assessment
Nanjing Forestry University will make a yearly review on the scholarship students’ performances. If the scholarship students violate the law of China or regulations of NJFU, or the rules of NJFUS, the scholarship will be terminated.
11、Accommodation
Double rooms are available for undergraduates: CNY 360 per month; Single rooms are available for Master’s students and PhD students: CNY 450 or 540 per month.
All the rooms are furnished and include public kitchen, individual bathroom, water heater, air-conditioner and internet access.
