Minnan Normal University, a key university in Fujian Province, part of the provincial “Double First-Class” Initiative and the national “First-Class Major” Initiative, offers a full range of academic programs covering undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. Approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the university enrolls overseas students from all over the world. In order to promote the dissemination of Minnan (southern Fujian Province) culture and meet the needs of international students who have a strong interest in Chinese culture and are committed to promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, Minnan Normal University has specially launched degree and non-degree programs. We sincerely welcome international students to our university to participate in long-term or short-term study and exchange activities.

I. Application Requirements

1. Applicants should be healthy and well-behaved non-Chinese citizens with financial capability to support themselves, holding valid foreign passports, and having no criminal records. When in China, all international students must abide by the laws of Chinese government and rules and regulations of the university and respect Chinese traditions and customs.

2. Applicants for bachelor/master/doctoral degree programs should have HSK 4 certificates ;

3. Chinese language courses (non-degree) are open to learners with/without HSK certificates;

4. Chinese citizens who have immigrated to foreign countries and wish to enroll in our school as foreign students must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years in the last four years (by April 30 of the enrollment year) (actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to the entry and exit signatures).

II. Scholarships

III. Medical Insurance

All international students are required to purchase medical insurance during their study in MNNU. Those who don’t purchase insurance according to the requirements can not register at the university.

IV. Catering and Accommodation

Minnan Normal University prepares well-equipped dormitories for international students. Restaurants, supermarkets and sport facilities can be easily found on campus. Hospitals and shopping streets are located near the university. The life in the university is very convenient and comfortable.

The apartment for international students is fully equipped with separate toilets and bathrooms. The room is not only equipped with furniture such as tables and chairs, beds and wardrobes, but also equipped with electrical appliances such as water heaters and air conditioners.

International students can rent apartments outside the campus, but they have to go through certain procedures in the university and the local police station according to the rules and sign the safety agreements with the university.

V. Application Method and Materials

1. Applicants can log in to http://admission.mnnu.edu.cn/and click “Apply Online” to register your account and submit your application. Please submit the following attachment materials in the system as well. (Registration time: From now until June 15, 2025)

2. Scanned copy of Foreigner’s Physical Examination Report.

3. Scanned copy of diplomas or graduation certificates and the transcripts. Graduating students can be issued a pre-graduation certificate by the school they attend.

4. Scanned copy of HSK certificate. (Language learners need not to provide.)

5. Scanned copy of a valid passport.

6. Scanned copy of Proof of Economic Capability. (Scholarship applicants need not to provide)

7. A recent color 2-inch bareheaded certificate photo, white background without frame, with the head accounting for 2/3 of the photo size, photo size not less than 320 * 240 pixels, height width ratio of 4:3, size of 100-500kb, in JPG format.

8. Scanned copy of a Recommendation Letter. (Only required for master’s and doctoral applicants.)

9. Scanned copy of Police Clearance.

10. Files which can prove an applicant’s all-round abilities, such as certificates of awards. These can be submitted with the above materials at the same time. (The university will give priority to such applicants).

11.Entry and exit records (for specific individuals only)

For documents in languages other than Chinese or English, scanned copies of official Chinese or English translations are required. All application materials, regardless of admission outcome, will not be returned.

Applicants for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship should log in to the website of the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center (http://www.chinese.cn/page/#/pcpage/project_detail) to submit an application.

VI. Admission Process

1.Preliminary examination of qualifications: The Overseas Education College will conduct a comprehensive review of the applicant’s foreign nationality, highest academic degree, academic performance, language proficiency, and physical and mental health status.

2.Professional review: For applicants who have passed the preliminary qualification review, the relevant colleges will conduct a professional ability review, including the evaluation of the application materials, and if necessary, a remote interview or written test will be conducted for the applicants. The professional review focuses on the applicant’s academic ability, communication ability, and overall qualities.

3.Admission confirmation: The Overseas Education College will comprehensively examine the applicant’s preliminary qualification examination, the results of the professional review and enrollment plans for the applied-for majors and decide whether to admit the applicant. Applicants should regularly log in to the Minnan Normal University Online Application System to check notifications and the progress of their application status, keep their mobile phones accessible, and regularly check their email. The application results will be announced on the application system in August.

Outstanding master and doctoral scholarship students will receive a grant of 34,000 yuan / year, of which 22,000 yuan will be directly used to cover the tuition fee, and the remaining 12,000 yuan will be given in monthly installments (i.e. 1,000 yuan per month for 12 months).

Outstanding undergraduate scholarship students will receive a grant of 15,000 yuan/year for direct tuition payment.

Outstanding language learners need to pay a tuition fee of 15000 yuan /year in advance, and after language learners (preparatory course) enter the academic learning stage,they can be issued scholarships for the language learning stage.

Fujian Provincial Government Scholarship grants 30000 yuan/year for undergraduate students, 40000 yuan/year for master students, and 50000 yuan/year for doctoral students. (One-time issuance after deducting tuition and accommodation fees)

一、入学资格

1、申请在我校学习的外国留学生，须持有效外国护照，身心健康，无犯罪记录，并具备一定的经济能力；遵守中国政府的法律和学校的规章制度，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯。

2、申请攻读本科、硕士或博士等学历专业的留学生需持有HSK(汉语水平考试)4级证书；

3、汉语语言课程学习者，无需持有HSK证书；

4、中国公民移民外国后申请以外国留学生身份进入我校学习的，必须持有有效的外国护照或国籍证明文件4年(含)以上，且最近四年(截至入学年度的4月30日前)之内有在国外实际居住2年以上的记录(一年中实际在国外居住满9个月可按一年计算，以入境和出境签章为准)。

三、医疗保险

闽南师范大学要求留学生在校期间必须购买医疗保险。不按规定购买医疗保险的留学生，学校将不予办理报到注册手续。

四、食宿

闽南师范大学校内有餐厅、超市和运动场所，校外就近有医院、商业街，生活出行十分方便。留学生公寓内设施齐全，有独立的卫生间和浴室。室内不仅配备了桌椅、床铺和衣柜等家具，还安装了热水器和空调等电器。留学生也可以选择租住学校外的房屋，但必须按照规定到学校留学生管理部门和当地的公安机关办理登记手续，并与我校签订安全协议。

五、申请方式与申请材料

1、登录http://admission.mnnu.edu.cn/ 点击“国际学生报名”注册账号，提交申请，附件材料请在系统里提交。（报名时间：即日起——2025年6月15日）

2、外国人体格检查表扫描件。

3、毕业证书及成绩单扫描件，应届生可由就读学校出具预毕业证明。

4、HSK （汉语水平考试）证书扫描件。（语言学习者无需提供）

5、护照扫描件（有效期内的普通护照）。

6、经济能力证明扫描件。（奖学金申请者无需提供）

7、近期彩色2寸免冠证件照，白色背景无边框，头部占照片尺寸的2/3，照片尺寸不低于320*240像素，高宽比为4:3,大小为100-500KB,JPG格式。

8、推荐信扫描件。（仅硕博士学习者需提供）

9、无犯罪证明扫描件。

10、如有可以证明自己综合能力的文件，如获奖证书等，可在申请时一并提交扫描件，学校在录取时将予以优先考虑。

11、出入境记录（仅特定对象提供）

中、英文以外的文本材料需提供中文或英文翻译件的扫描件。无论录取与否，以上材料一律不予退还。

国际中文教师奖学金申请者请登录中外语言交流合作中心网站（http://www.chinese.cn/page/#/pcpage/project_detail）提交申请。

六、录取流程

1、资格初审：海外教育学院将对申请人的外国国籍、最高学历、学业成绩、语言能力、身心健康状况等进行全面审核。

2、专业复审：对于通过资格初审的申请人，相关学院将进行专业能力复审，包括对申请材料的评估，必要时还将对申请人进行远程面试或笔试。专业复审重点考察申请人的学术能力、沟通能力、综合素养等方面。

3、录取确认：海外教育学院将综合考察申请人的资格初审情况、专业复审结果以及申请人申请的专业招生计划，决定是否予以录取。申请人应定期登录闽南师范大学在线申请系统查看通知和申请状态的进展情况，并保持手机畅通，定期查看电子邮箱。申请结果将于8月在申请系统上公布。
