I School Introduction
Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (LNUTCM) was established in 1958, originally known as “Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine”.Approved by the Liaoning Provincial Committee, Liaoning TCM Training School (established in 1955) and Liaoning TCM Hospital (established in 1956) combined into the present Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (LNUTCM).Renamed “Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine” in 2006 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it is the only higher education institution in Liaoning Province dedicated to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
LNUTCM covers a total area of more than 1000 acres, with the main campus located in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province, and the branch campuses located in Dalian and Benxi respectively, forming the “one university , three campuses” pattern. The University has set up 7 disciplines, including medicine, science, engineering, management, literature, law and agriculture, with 27 undergraduate majors and more than 13300 students. LNUTCM boasts 18 colleges, 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 1 teaching department, 3 teaching and experiment centers, 1 laboratory animal center, 1 academy of science, 3 research institutes, 3 libraries, and it is the only institution of higher education in Liaoning Province that cultivates talents in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Traditional Chinese Pharmacology, Acupuncture and Tuina, Chinese and Western Medicine in Clinical Practice, Senior Nursing and other medical related fields.

III Application Conditions:
1. Non-Chinese citizens with good health.
2. Master’s degree or above.
3. The Chinese-taught program requires a score of 180 or above in the new HSK Level 4. Self-funded applicants who do not meet the conditions should apply for Chinese language training first.
IV Self–funded Program Application Process:
1. Application Period: January 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024
2. Application Materials:
(1)Self-funded Student Information Import Template (available from the International Education College of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s official website under “Common Downloads”);
(2) Application Form for Enrollment of Foreign Students at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (available from the International Education College’s official website under “Common Downloads”);
(3) Passport (front page, inner blank page, and visa page if there is a record of arrival in China);
If you are already in China, you also need to submit: passport visa page and entry stamp page (please note the continuity of the visa time), Temporary Residence Registration Form for Foreigners;
(4) 8 two-inch ID photos 3.5cm x 4.9cm(electronic version between 100kb-500kb)
(5)Notarized highest education certificate of master or above (including the graduation certificate) and the transcript (both need to be notarized and translated into Chinese); If you have graduated, please provide the master’s graduation certificate and degree certificate; If you haven’t graduated, please provide the pre-graduation certificate issued by the school; Please provide all the transcripts since the undergraduate stage.
(6) Certificate of No Criminal Record or signed commitment form for no criminal record (available from the International Education College’s official website under “Common Downloads”);
(7) Asset certificate (proof of deposit for one year’s tuition and living expenses);
(8) Plans for study and research in China. More than 1000 words in Chinese or English. Please elaborate on the major or research direction you plan to pursue at our university. Ph.D. students must submit their learning plans to the supervisor for review, and ask the supervisor to sign on their learning plans.
(9) Letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English, with a focus on your study goals in China, as well as your comprehensive abilities and future development. Letters of recommendation should generally be issued by professors or associate professors at your original graduate school.
(10)Foreigner Physical Examination Form (see commonly used downloads). Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” for examination. The ‘Foreigner Physical Examination Form’ is invalid if there are missing items, no photos of the individual are attached, or if the photo is not stamped with a seal or signed by a doctor or hospital. The validity period of the inspection results is 6 months;
(11)HSK4 or above score certificate (HSK score report is valid for 2 years);
(12)Letter of commitment (available from the International Education College’s official website under “Common Downloads”);
(13)Contact the Ph.D. supervisor, and get their agreement. Without the agreement of the supervisor, the application cannot be carried out. Please ask the supervisor to fill out “Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Instructor Acceptance of Foreign Postgraduate Master-PhD Student Intention Form (to be filled).pdf (see Common Downloads)” and sign it by hand.

3.Specialty:

4. Fees:
(1) Registration fee: 800 yuan.
(2) Tuition fee: 40,000 yuan per academic year.
(3) Accommodation fee: Students should pay the tuition and accommodation fees as required by the school when they are enrolled. The accommodation fee varies by room type, ranging from 9600 to 18000 yuan/year. The detailed fee is available upon request. Please note that the above may be adjusted according to the actual situation.
(4) Insurance fee: Self-funded students need to purchase insurance as required by the school themselves, with an insurance fee of 800 yuan per person per year.
(5) Payment method: Bank transfer or other methods.
(6) Payment time: After receiving the admission notice, students will receive a payment notice. Please pay the fees according to the specified time.
5.Application Steps:
Submit the electronic application materials to the “International Education College of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine” Admissions Office for review. After the school’s review, the letter of admission will be issued. The Foreign Student Visa Application Form (Electronic ID) will be sent to the reserved email box. Please carefully check the email address and make sure to apply with the two documents for visa processing at the Chinese embassies and consulates in foreign countries.
