一、Program Introduction
lThe Chinese Language Program at Ningbo University is open to international students who are passionate about the Chinese language. International students will engage in full-time Chinese language studies in International College. Through the training in language skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, students will comprehensively enhance Chinese communication abilities, gain a deeper understanding of China and sense Chinese culture.
lThe program provides students with a variety of activities, including painting peonies, experiencing traditional culture and custom and visiting places of interest, etc., so that students can improve their language proficiency.
lThere is a HSK test site in the school, which is convenient for students to take the Chinese language proficiency test.
二、 Learning Mode
lA semester usually consists of 16 to 17 weeks with around 16 class hours per week. Upon completion of the language courses, students who meet the assessment requirements will be issued with a certificate of completion from International College, Ningbo University.
lThe program is characterized by level-teaching and is divided into three levels according to the students’ Chinese capacity. Students are to be placed in classes that suit them best by taking a Chinese proficiency test.

四、Application Information
1. Qualifications
Applicants should be between the age of 18 and 50 in principle, in good physical and mental conditions, and have graduated from high school.
2. Time for Application
Spring Semester (Admission in March 2025): November 1, 2024 – January 17, 2025.
3. Fees
l Application Fee: CNY 500 (Non-refundable).
l Tuition Fees: CNY 8,000/ semester
CNY 16,000/ academic year
l Accommodation Fees: Yangguang International Students Apartment
Single Room CNY 1,200/Month/Person
Double Room CNY 900/Month/Person
The charge of water and electricity are excluded.
l Insurance Fee: CNY 600/ semester, CNY 1200/ academic year
According to the regulations of Ministry of Education, international students who come to Ningbo University to study must purchase comprehensive medical insurance in mainland of China as a necessary requirement for their registration for the new semester.
4. Application Procedures：
A. Online Application
Step 1:
Create an account in the Online Application System (http://icnbu.nbu.edu.cn/).
Step 2:
Fill out the online application form and upload the required materials.
Step 3:
Pay the application fee (CNY500).
B. Pre-Admission
Applicants who meet our requirements will receive the pre-admission within 2 weeks after submitting application documents successfully.
C. Payment
Applicants are required to pay tuition fees within the prescribed time in accordance with the requirements of the pre-admission offer.
D. Formal Admission
Upon verification of the payment receipt, applicants will receive the JW202 forms or DQ forms and the formal admission notice to apply for the visa.
Ø Please apply for X1visa for one academic year language program students.
Ø Please apply for X2visa for one semester language program students.
5.Documents Required:

l Highest Degree Certificate and Complete Transcripts
l School Performance Certificate (Only for the students with a record of studying in mainland China within two years)
Notice：
Ø Documents not in Chinese or English shall be attached with notarized or Chinese / English translations provided by the issuing unit.
Ø All documents submitted must be accurate, complete and truthful. NBU reserves the right to withdraw offers of admission or expel enrolled students in cases of inaccurate or incomplete documents.
Ø Freshmen who end their studies prematurely due to transfer, withdrawal, or expulsion, tuition fees are non-refundable after 14 days of the registration date.
