PART.1  About SCU Founded in 1896 in Chengdu, China, Sichuan University consists of three campuses: Wangjiang, Huaxi, and Jiang'an, where the faculty staff and students gain easy access to complete teaching, learning, and academic research facilities in a beautiful environment. Sichuan University offers a complete range of 12 disciplines, covering literature, science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, law, etc., and boasts multiple state key laboratories, research bases, abundant teaching resources and a strong faculty team. The university ranks top in China in such research areas as natural sciences, engineering technology, humanities and social sciences, and medicine. In 2024, Sichuan University ranked 150th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and 98th in ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). According to the latest Essential Science Indicators (ESI) data released in March 2024, Sichuan University's seven disciplines -- Chemistry, Material Science, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Engineering, Computer Science, and Biology & Biochemistry -- entered the ESI global top 0.1%, and its 21 disciplines entered the ESI global top 1%.
