Shaanxi University of Technology（SUT），founded in 1958,is a comprehensive university authorized by the Ministry of Education in China, andit issituated in HanzhongCity,which is veryrich in both history and culture.It is one of the first colleges in China to be accredited for Bachelor’s Degree and now it also offers a Master’s Degree program.

The university hasabout 20,000full-time students and 1,592full-time staff who are well organized, competent and devoted to the development of educational excellence. 本科生

具有高中毕业学历；

具备用英语或者汉语听课的能力。

硕士研究生

一般应具有高中学历。

语言生分为两大类：

长期生：注册学习半年（一个学期）以上的学生。每年三月、九月入学，入学后经过考试，分配在初级、中级或高级班学习。

短期生：注册学习两个月以下的学生。

• Long-term students: students who register to study more than half a year (one semester). There are two semesters each year, one beginning in March and the other in September. After the entrance examination, students will bedividedinto elementary, intermediate or advanced classes, according to their ability.

• Short-term students: students who register to study for less than two months.

学习方式

学习方式分为与中国学生同班、单独开班(全英文授课)，或者可以选择两种方式的结合。

• 与中国学生同班：汉语水平达到相应专业学习要求，一般申请自然科学及管理科学领域的学生汉语水平（HSK）应为三级以上。

• 单独开班：申请同一学期同一专业外国学生，单独开班，全英文授课。

  另外，我们为所有来校学习的外国学生提供专门的汉语培训（汉语听力、汉语会话、汉语阅读、汉语写作及HSK等课程）及中国文化课程，课程包括中国历史、绘画、剪纸、太极拳、气功等。同时，我们还将组织学生利用周末和节假日参观汉中地区的风景点。

  Shaanxi University of Technology Pattern of Study

International students wishing to study undergraduate or postgraduate courses at SUT can choose to study in classes with Chinese students taught in Chinese, or a separate class taught in English, or a combination of both.

• Classes with Chinese students: The taught language is Chinese; you will study together with Chinese students. The Chinese Proficiencyof the international students should meet the relativerequirements of their chosen major. Applicants of natural science or management science programs must pass HSK Band 3.

• Separate Class taught in English: Ifthere are several internationalstudents applyingfor the samemajorinthe same term, a separated class may be offeredfor them through the medium of English.

All theChineselanguage and culture training coursesare available not only to the students in the Language and Culture Program, but also to the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.The language courses include listening, speaking，reading, writing, HSK preparation and so on.Theculturecourses includeChinesehistory, painting, paper-cutting, shadow boxing,qigong etc.In addition,at the weekend and during the holidaysweorganizelocal trips to enable the international students tovisitplaces of interestaround Hanzhong.

申请办法

1.通过以下方式提出申请

a.发送电子邮件至[email protected]，索取《陕西理工大学外国留学生入学申请表》，并按要求如实填写有关内容。

b.或者将申请表传真至陕西理工大学国际合作与交流处86-916-2642612

2.申请时间

学历生：每年3月1日-6月30日

3.经陕西理工大学国际合作与交流处审核同意后，通过邮件或电话向申请人确认，随后寄发录取通知书及已审批的《外国留学生来华签证申请表》（JW202表）。

4.申请人持学校寄发的录取通知书、JW202表、体检表和其他相关材料到所在国家的中国使领馆申请办理学习签证（X签证），然后按规定时间来校报到，并缴纳注册费、学费。

注：对于第一次来汉中的新生，我校可负责免费接机、接站，但需至少提前7天通过电子邮件或传真将航班号、火车车次及到达时间通知国际合作与交流处办公室，以便安排迎接。

2. Application time

Undergraduates and postgraduatesshould apply betweenMarch 1^standJune 30^th

3.After notifying the applicant of their successful application by email or phone, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges will mail theofficial AdmissionNotificationandtheVisa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to the accepted students.

4. Prospective students are then required to take the Admission Notification, the JW202 Form, thehealth examination certificateand other related material tothe Chinese embassyin their owncountryin orderto apply for the Student Visa (X Visa). Students are required to arrive at SUTfor registrationat the designated timeand pay the registrationand tuition fee.

Note: SUT providesa pick up service from theairport or train station free of charge for new comers to Hanzhong. Students whowould like to avail ofthis service should inform the Office of International Cooperation and Exchangesof their arrival detailsby email or faxat least7 days before their arrival.

关于留学生体检的补充说明：

1．学习时间为一学期的学生可以申请F或X2签证，不需要做身体检查。

2．学习时间为一学年或一学年以上的学生必须申请X1签证来华学习，入校后需要作身体检查，方可办理居留许可。关于“外国人体格检查记录”表，请注意以下所列事项：

a、体检表必须使用原件；

b、体检表的有效期为六个月；

c、体检表原件的右上角必须贴有本人近照，并盖有体检医院的印章；

d、体检表最后一栏必须有医院印章和医生的签字及签字日期；

e、体检表需另附艾滋病、梅毒化验单和心电图原件。

Further notes on international students’physical examination

1.Students who are studying for one Semester can apply for an For X2visa with which there is no need to take the physical examination.

2.Students who plan to study for oneacademic yearor for more than oneacademic year should apply for an X1visa and need to take a physical examination. Please pay attention to the following six items concerning the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners.

a. The original form of the Physical Examination is required (not a photocopy);

b. The Physical Examination form isonlyvalid for six months;

c. A recent photo is required on the upper right corner of the form and the form must have the hospital’s stamp on it;

d. The hospital’s stamp, signature of the physician and the date it was signed are all required on the form;

e. Theoriginal formsrelated to the Aids, SyphilisandElectrocardiogram Examinationsmust be attached to the Physical Examination Form.

住宿条件

生活条件：

学校设有医院、邮件收发室、小型超市、洗染部等服务机构，校园内有ATM机。有中餐、快餐、风味餐、糕点房和伊斯兰（穆斯林）等不同风味的学生餐厅。校园内各类体育设施齐全，有篮球、排球、网球、足球和游泳馆等运动场所，体育馆内有羽毛球室、乒乓球室以及健身房等。

留学生校内住宿：

• 学生宿舍为两人合住一间，房间配有床、书桌、椅子、衣柜等。

   Accommodation

  Living conditions on campus：

  The University campus has apost office, mini-supermarket,barbershop,hospitaland ATM, all of which make life at SUT very convenient. The 2 schoolcafeterias and dining halls provide differentflavoredfoods, such as Chinese food, fast food, localspecialityfood,cake products andMuslimfood.

  SUT is also well-equipped with sports facilities. There are basketball, volleyballand tennis courts, as well asfootball pitches and swimming pools. In theindoor sports center, there arebadminton andtable tenniscourts, fitness centers, etc.

  Living in the International Students Dormitory on campus:

  2 persons are in one dormitory room. Thebedrooms areequippedwith 2mattresses, beds, desks, chairsand wardrobes.

  中国政府要求来华留学生在中国学习期间必须购买保险。留学生可购买由中国平安保险公司提供的医疗保险。不按规定购买医疗保险，学校将不予办理报到注册手续。

Profile of Han City

Situated in the Southwest of Shaanxi Province, Hanzhong lies at the foot of the Qinling Mountains in the north and the Bashan Mountains in the south. It lies next to Ankang City in the east, Xi’an city and Baoji City in the north, Gansu Province in the west and Sichuan Province in the South. It covers an area of 27200 square kilometers with a population of5.32million. Since the first establishment of Hanzhong City by the King Huiwen in 312 BC, it has had a history of more than 2300 years.

Thanks to the long history and splendid culture, Hanzhong was the cradle for Liu Bang, the first emperor of the Han Dynasty, to establish his kingdom. It was the base for Mr. Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu Kingdom and great wise man, to fight against the Wei Kingdom in the north. It was also the birthplace of

Mr. Zhang Qian, the founder of the Silk Road and the place where Cai Lun, the inventor of paper making, made the first piece of paper in the world and was granted the domain. All those features enable Hanzhong to win the fame of the National Renowned Historical and Cultural City as well as China’s Best Tourist City. In Hanzhong, there are 131 historical sites under special protection at different levels such as the Baoxie Plank Road and the Temple of Marquis Wu.

Geographically, Hanzhong is located between the latitude 32°08′54″- 33°53’16” and the longitude 105°30’50”-108° 16’45”. It is in the transition area from north warm temperature zone to subtropical climate which gives it cool-damp winters and hot-humid summers. It enjoys abundant rainfall and a moist climate. The monthly average temperature ranges from 2.4 °C in January to 25.2 °C in July, while the annual average temperature is 14.33 °C. The monthly percentage of possible sunshine ranges from 26% in November and December to 50% in August, and the city receives 1,569 hours of bright sunshine annually, with spring and summer sunnier than autumn and winter.

Hanzhong is a land with rich resources. Because of its abundant plants, mineral and water resources, it has gained the reputation of “Gene Bank of Natural Species” and “A Treasure Basin in Qingling and Bashan Mountains”. There are many rare animals, such as crested ibises, giant pandas and golden monkeys. You will also find that Hanzhong is rich in many precious Chinese medicinal herbs, such as tuber of elevated gastrodia, Eucommia Bark, cornel and American ginseng.
