WNEVC 2024 to be held in Haikou Sept 27- 29

The 2024 World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC 2024) will be held in Haikou, the capital of southern China’s Hainan Province, from September 27 to 29.

This year’s WNEVC, themed “Low-Carbon Transformation and Global Cooperation,” will aim to work with all participants in the global automotive industry to promote the sustainable and healthy development of new energy vehicle production, strengthen international cooperation, and jointly achieve the goal of carbon neutrality.

This year’s WNEVC includes three main forums, 15 special forums, three dialogues, one closed-door meeting, a 13,000-square-meter technology exhibition, and other events.

One of the highest-level and most influential annual summits in the global new energy automotive field, WNEVC 2024 will introduce forums such as the “International Forum on Sustainable Development and Standards of Auto,” “Promote Vehicle Network Interactive Landing and Scale Development Forum,” and “New Energy auto Consumption and Service Forum” for the first time, bringing the focus on the latest topics in the field. Four joint special forums co-organized by domestic institutions and their partners in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and ASEAN, respectively, will aim to deepen international cooperation and build a global exchange platform.

In a shakeup of the conference’s format, this year’s WNEVC will see more first-time events, including three high-end dialogues, a city exhibition hall, and an exhibition delegation from Sweden, in addition to the Hainan Special Sessioncarried over from previous years, providing participants a diverse range of conference activities.

The WNEVC is co-organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, the People’s Government of Hainan Province, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. It has been held in Hainan for five consecutive years, playing an important role in promoting the development of the province’s new energy vehicle industry.

At the first conference held in 2019, Hainan announced that it would stop selling internal combustion engine vehicles in 2030 and promote new energy vehicle uptake throughout the province across various sectors in a step-by-step approach.
