Shenzhen will see continuous heavy rains starting tomorrow, with orange or red alerts for rainstorms expected to be issued Thursday and Friday, according to information released by the city’s meteorological observatory yesterday.
This round of heavy rainfall, predicted to be the heaviest this year, is forecasted to end Sunday. The city will experience its heaviest torrential rains Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures will plummet Saturday through Monday as a result of the heavy rains and cold air, according to the observatory.
The observatory reminds the public to be prepared for lightning, rain and strong winds this week.
When the rains come, citizens are advised to stay away from rivers, retaining walls, old houses and other potentially dangerous sites, and to seek shelter indoors.
