A Brief Introduction to Yichun University
Yichun University（YU for short）is a comprehensive university whose predecessor was established in 1958. It is located in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, PRC. With the approval of Ministry of Education, the new Yichun University grew out of Yichun Teachers College, Yichun Medicine College and Yichun Agriculture College in January, 2000.
At present, YU has 19 schools, 6 institutes, more than 50 undergraduate programs and 2 affiliated hospitals. In 2011, YU had been authorized to confer a master’s degree majoring in pharmacy by the Degree Committee of State Council of China, which indicates that the educational quality of YU has been raised to a higher level. .
The motto of YU is “educating through love”. And the aim of YU is dedicated to fostering the high quality, creative, applied and interdisciplinary graduates.
The campus is located in the west of Jiangxi Province. Yichun city is among the first corps of national experimental ecological cities, and has acquired a series of national honours: National Designated Garden City, National Model City for Greening, China Excellent Tourist City and National Health City. YU enjoys picturesque sceneries, convenient communication, ample facilities and profound cultural traditions as well as fairly advanced teaching conditions. Meanwhile, students can enjoy the convenient transportation facilities with Zhe-Gan Railway (from Zhejiang to Jiangxi) and the Mingyue Mountain airport.

Qualification and Term for Admission
1. Undergraduate: Applicants, who have completed the secondary education, with the diplomas and school reports, under 25 years old, can register themselves for the program.
2. Postgraduate Applicants: Applicants who have graduated from universities or colleges, with the diplomas, school reports, and recommendation letters by two professors, can apply for the program.
3. The Chinese language students: Applicants who are interested in Chinese Language and Chinese history & culture, at all age between 18-50, in good health, can register themselves for the program. Students will be divided into several groups according to their levels of Chinese.
Note:
With regard to term 1 and term 2, those who attend lectures in Chinese need to learn one year of Chinese language if they do not know Chinese Language originally, and it’s also necessary for them to get HSK Degree Certificate of Qualification or the similar certificate, for all the undergraduates are required to receive at least HSK 4.
Students who will study as a science or engineering undergraduate should take entrance examinations on such subjects as Mathematics, Chinese language, Physics, (or chemistry). Admission will be considered according to the results the examinees get. Or, students may not take the entrance examination but they are upgraded to continue their study as normal students, otherwise, they must repeat their studies; must have one year probation study, if all the required courses can be passed, the students then or remain as advanced students.

2. Application date: March 1- June 30
3. Once admitted, you will receive the Letter or Admission, JW202 Form (Visa application for foreigners wishing to study in China with which an entrance Visa (X visa) can be granted by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in your country.)

Scholarship of Yichun University
Details of Scholarship
1. Degree Education Scholarship (undergraduate, postgraduate)
Degree Education Scholarship provides for all the foreign students in YU. It includes “Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship” Reward amount 20000-25,000 RMB/ person, and “Yichun University Scholarship” Reward amount including 1,500 RMB/ person，1,000 RMB/ person and 500 RMB/ person three different grades.
2. Non-degree education Scholarship
Non-degree education Scholarship is for Non-degree rewarding foreign students who choose to study Chinese language in YU. It includes “Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship” Reward amount 6,000 RMB/person, “Yichun University Scholarship” two semesters scholarship is 1,000RMB/person, one semester scholarship is 600 RMB/person.

Accommodation in Yichun University
There are school hospital, post office, convenient shops, laundry and ATM on campus. The student canteen provides different flavor Chinese food and Muslim food. You can find various sports facilities on campus, like basketball court, soccer stadium and table tennis etc.
Two students share a room with air conditioning, water heaters, desk, and wardrobe and so on.
Note: It is required to pay 500 Yuan deposit before check-in. And it will be refunded when you leave on the condition that the room and goods are in good condition.
Medical Insurance
According to Ministry of Education, each foreign student studying in China should buy health insurance. Students are recommended to buy the health insurance in Chinese Ping An Insurance Company. Without insurance students will not be allowed to register.
Health insurance fee: 600RMB/year/person (under 45 years old)
