These ink sticks are made of burn pine branches with atural bone glue or oxhide gelatin.. Not car tires. without any plaster.

You need an ink stone. Optional is an ink stick rest, to place the wet ink stick between grindings. Amazon has plenty of ink stones, most of good to better quality. Not so many ink stone rests that are moderately priced any way.
