Nearly 60 Magnolia Silver Award winners and their families celebrated Chinese New Year at Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai on Feb 10.
Hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Huangpu district government, the event featured captivating intangible cultural heritage performances, such as sugar painting and shadow puppetry. The participants also experienced a blend of modernity and traditional culture through vibrant colorful light displays.
Xu Huili, head of Huangpu district, introduced the history, development, and prospects of Huangpu.
Kong Fu’an, director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, extended his New Year greetings to the guests, highlighting Shanghai as an international, innovative, and inclusive city with strong growth potential, a promising development trajectory, and a favorable business environment.
He expressed his hope that the guests would continue to support Shanghai, serving as ambassadors of international friendship, storytellers of Shanghai, and promoters of Chinese culture.
