Tickets for the Wuhan Open, one of the 10 WTA1000 tournaments worldwide, went on sale on Tuesday.
The tournament is set to return to Wuhan for the first time since 2019. It will be held from October 7 to 13 at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center, which features a retractable roof center court and is able to hold more than 13,000 spectators.
As the provincial capital city of Hubei, the home province of China’s tennis ace Zheng Qinwen, a gold medalist of the women’s tennis singles at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, and China’s two-time Grand Slam champion Li Na, Wuhan witnessed the popularity of tennis grow exponentially in the past two decades.
“I am very excited to compete in the 2024 Wuhan Open. I hope to achieve good results this year. I’ll see you at the Wuhan Open,” said Zheng Qinwen via video link at the ticket sales ceremony.
