Calling all pet parents and furry friends! On March 1, Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park will be rolling out the welcome mat for pets and their humans with a special pet-friendly event designed to celebrate the joy of spring together.
For just 499 yuan ($68.49), you and your pet can get one of 500 exclusive paired tickets. But before you pack the treats and toys, make sure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and has a health certificate. Once inside, pets need to stay close to their owners, either on a leash or in a trolley. And for the big pups out there (over 55 cm tall), don’t forget a muzzle.
Throughout the day, popular attractions like the Polar Bear Exhibit and Antarctic Penguin Exhibit will be open for everyone to enjoy.
The park’s hours will be extended from 5:50 pm to 6:30 pm, giving you and your pet plenty of time to explore. During that final hour, select rides, such as Flying Fish, Volcano Drift, and Ocean Carousel, will be open exclusively for pet owners and their furry companions!
Hungry? Head to the Polar Bear restaurant, the park’s designated pet-friendly dining spot. Plus, photographers will be roaming around seeking to capture those picture-perfect moments, so get ready to strike a pose!
This event is just one example of how Shanghai is becoming a haven for pet lovers. From pet-friendly cafes and restaurants to sprawling parks, the city is embracing its four-legged (and more) residents like never before.
