The 22nd China Shanghai RV Show, scheduled to take place from Feb 20 to 23 at the Shanghai Auto Exhibition Center, will highlight the rapid growth of China’s recreational vehicle (RV) market.
As the first event in 2025 hosted by the Road Group x Go RVing—an online platform dedicated to personal driving tours and RV camping—the show will feature a diverse range of RVs, accessories, and the latest industry innovations.
China’s RV market saw significant growth in 2024, with 18,900 new RVs registered, including 11,418 self-propelled RVs, 1,308 trailer RVs, and 4,074 camping vehicles.
This represents a robust increase in camping vehicle registrations, with a year-on-year growth of 61.16 percent.
The number of new RV model announcements also saw a significant increase, with 245 companies submitting 895 new models for approval in 2024, highlighting the industry’s innovation and expansion.
The Shanghai RV Show will offer attendees a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and innovations in the industry, featuring a wide range of domestic and international brands.
Alongside the product showcase, the event will host several industry conferences and workshops, including the 5th China RV Annual Technology Forum and the 13th RV Camping Enthusiasts’ Sharing & Exchange Meeting. These events will foster information sharing and networking among industry professionals, enthusiasts, and investors.
Industry experts anticipate a continuous rise in demand for innovative RV products, high-quality manufacturing, and robust after-sales services to cater to a growing and diverse consumer base.
They also note a shift in RV campsite development from urban areas to locations offering unique natural landscapes, often in less-developed regions, reflecting a growing RV camping culture in China. This trend blends leisure and tourism, contributing to a more diverse travel market.
