The 11th Meichuan Park plum blossom exhibition is taking place in Shanghai’s Putuo district.

With a theme inspired by the Year of the Snake, this year’s exhibition features a refreshed 400-square-meter artificial landscape and new floral arrangements and decorations in the park located on Wuning Road.

As the only park in Putuo district dedicated to plum blossoms, Meichuan Park boasts more than 10 varieties of these ephemeral beauties, in addition to red lanterns, Chinese knots, and traditional Chinese New Year ornaments.

In Chinese culture, plum blossoms are believed to fearlessly endure winter’s cold, symbolizing resilience and purity, while the snake embodies wisdom, agility and mystery. Their characteristics harmoniously intertwine to welcome the arrival of the new year.
