Shanghai’s Liantang Railway Station, an important transportation hub in the Yangtze River Delta, handled its first return travel rush during Spring Festival.

As the first high-speed railway station in Qingpu district, Liantang Railway Station started operating on Dec 26, 2024.

High-speed trains departing from this newly built station can reach Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station in just 21 minutes and Zhejiang province’s Huzhou Railway Station in just 32 minutes, significantly reducing travel time between cities.

Passenger Yan Zhanyi, from Luoyang, Henan province, works in Qingpu district. With the new station, he can reach his workplace directly.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, 20 trains stopped at Liantang Railway Station, where optimized security checks and ticketing processes ensured convenience for passengers.

“The entire trip was very smooth. I live in Zhujiajiao town, and since Liantang Railway Station opened, it has been very convenient for residents of Qingpu district,” said a passenger named Xu Qian.
