Shanghai’s two airports reported that their single-day passenger volume exceeded 410,000 for the first time on Feb 3, according to Shanghai Airport Authority.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport handled 398,000 passenger trips on Feb 1, 404,000 passenger trips on Feb 2 and 412,000 passenger trips on Feb 3, all of which set new records for single-day passenger volume.

Specifically, Shanghai Pudong International Airport handled 264,000 passenger trips, and 148,000 passenger trips were made via the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.

The two airports deployed more staff at various procedures of both departure and arrival on Feb 4, a peak traveling time, as most passengers made their return trip on the last day of the Spring Festival holiday.
