Wuhan’s New Display Industry Innovation Joint Laboratory, one of the first 10 joint laboratories in Wuhan, was recently launched in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
Wuhan Huaxing Photoelectric Technology Co, a leading company in semiconductor display technology, spearheaded the newly launched laboratory. The laboratory will focus on four key areas: future display devices, new materials, testing equipment, and in-car displays, and aims to make breakthroughs in critical core technologies.

The laboratory will closely monitor market trends and continuously upgrade its technologies. By working with universities and enterprises, it aims to incubate and introduce new display projects in OVC, facilitating the application of new products in various scenarios.
OVC is a major hub for Hubei’s new display industry. From LCD and OLED to rigid and flexible screens, it has gradually formed an industrial chain covering raw materials, equipment, display panels, modules, and end products. As a result, it has become the largest R&D and production base for small and medium-sized display panels in China.

Seven of Wuhan’s first 10 joint laboratories are in OVC, including the High-End CNC System Joint Laboratory, Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Laboratory, and Semiconductor Laser Equipment Joint Laboratory. These laboratories drive the growth of leading enterprises, create a multiplier effect on the industry chain, and incubate several innovative companies.
