Yangpu district in Shanghai has announced a plan to build it into a national soccer demonstration district. The initiative aligns with China’s soccer reform goals and positions Shanghai as a rising global sports hub.
At the core of this initiative is a road map to a thriving soccer ecosystem. The key components of the plan include enhancement of youth soccer programs, refinement of competition systems, and bolstering of management and support structures. By focusing on these pillars, Yangpu district aims to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of soccer within the area.
By the end of 2027, Yangpu district envisions itself as a national exemplar for soccer development, with a specific emphasis on fostering youth talent, providing top-tier professional training opportunities, establishing robust competition frameworks, and fostering community involvement.
Central to the plan is the integration of soccer into various facets of community life, including educational frameworks, governmental initiatives, and the cultivation of a dynamic soccer culture within the district. By weaving soccer into the fabric of society, Yangpu district aims to create a sustainable environment that not only nurtures talent, but also fosters a deep-rooted passion for the sport among residents.
