To usher in the upcoming Chinese New Year, musicians and artists from Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Bulgaria, and China will present a variety of performances at the Shanghai Poly Grand Theater.
Music enthusiasts can anticipate a rich array of performances, including the Chinese-style symphony concert Zui Xuan Min Zu Feng, the 2025 Shanghai New Year Concert by the Yangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theater, the Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert, and the 2025 New Year Concert by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

The comedy lineup of the performance season will show both classic repertoires and renowned modern works.
On Jan 4, the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe will present The Peony Pavilion, a romantic tragicomedy depicting a collision of love, ideals, and societal norms transcending generations.
From March 1 to 2, Silver Ingot Bridge will bring authentic Beijing-style comedy to the audience.
There will also be exciting entertainment for young audiences.
The classic Chinese shadow puppet play Monkey King will be staged on Dec 28. On Jan 9, children and families can take in a staging of Murphy’s Space Adventure, a show that combines elements of slapstick, physical comedy, and audience interaction to explore themes of curiosity, science, and friendship.
