The 2025 Beijing Megalights Wonderland will open in Chaoyang District’s Wenyuhe Park demonstration area on December 28. This event, which will run until March 2025, will have eight themed sections and over 1,000 multicolored lantern installations
This year’s lantern installations are inspired by modern and futuristic elements, including technology, video games, trendy chic, and new energy sources. The most impressive one is the “Lantern King, which measures 15 meters tall and 40 meters long. It took some 50 intangible cultural heritage craftsmen 20 days to complete this mega work.
This session of lantern festival occupies 400,000 square meters of huge space, marking an increase of 50 percent over previous years. Ticket counters are at Gates 1, 2, and 9. Visitors can get access to wheelchairs, hot water, first-aid kits, and make inquries in the ticket inspection areas at Gates 1 and 2. Additionally, 8,160 parking spaces (3160 more than last year) will be available for the event, including 1,763 in the demonstration zone, 1,330 in Phase I area of the park, and 5,067 enlarged parking spots. Meanwhile, the event will provide six permanent restrooms and 30 temporary restrooms, with additional “warm houses” to offer amenities such as hot water, air conditioning, and first-aid kits.
Currently, tickets for the event are already on sale on nine platforms, i.e. Douyin, Meituan.com, Dianpin.com, Maoyan, Damai, Amap, ctrip.com, Piaoxingqiu, and Moretickets. Visitors can also purchase tickets with one click through the mini-program “Beijing Megalights Wonderland (北京千灯夜)”.
