A short video by Shenzhen Daily received an Outstanding Video Award at the Sixth “My China Story” International Short Video Competition Award Ceremony, which was held in Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, on Thursday.
The five-minute “Maluan Mountain” introduces the beautiful landscape and natural scenery of Maluan Mountain from the eyes of Milos, a Serbian who works as a social science teacher in Shenzhen. Milo, who has lived here for three years, enjoys Shenzhen’s natural environment and often hikes to explore the city. In his eyes, Shenzhen is a city with a rich cultural heritage and diverse array of attractions that showcase the history and traditions of various ethnic groups.
The video was one of the five winning works from Shenzhen in the contest.
The city image promotional video “Dare to Be a Pioneer,” produced by the Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal CPC Committee, won the Best Video Award in the Key Section category, and the department won the Best Organization Award. The “Grand Master,” produced by San Ren Xing Films (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., won the Best Videography of the Best Single Awards. The “Subways in China: How Metro Systems Look Like in Second-tier Cities” by Shenzhen Aixito Culture Media Co. Ltd. won an award in the We-Media category.
“Dare to Be a Pioneer” tells the story of a boy who dared to dream of flying and eventually realized his dream, paying tribute to the pioneering spirit of Shenzhen and the people who dare to innovate, work hard, and relentlessly pursue their dreams.
This year’s competition received 59,559 entries from 130 countries and regions. Over 30 judges selected the final 112 award winners through three rounds of evaluations.
Launched in 2018, the competition — organized by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and the Heilongjiang Provincial Government Information Office — is dedicated to telling Chinese stories from an international perspective.
