The number of direct flights between Shanghai and Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is set to increase starting Feb 21, 2025, according to China Eastern Airlines.

Currently, there are three round-trip flights per week. This number is expected to rise to six round-trip flights per week.

The increased flights, operating under flight numbers MU6031/MU6032, will operate three round trips weekly.

The outbound flights will depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 5:25 pm every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and arrive at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 00:15 am the following day. The return flights will run every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Currently, the airline’s Shanghai-Riyadh flights are operated every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, with the return flights running on the same day local time.

The upcoming MU6031/MU6032 flights will feature advanced in-flight entertainment systems and full-flight Wi-Fi service. Passengers will be able to access Wi-Fi service once the flight takes off, enabling them to stay connected throughout the journey.

Since its launch on April 27, the Shanghai-Riyadh route has transported nearly 370,000 passengers, with an average flight occupancy rate exceeding 80 percent.
