Visitors to Shanghai, whether in town for business or leisure, now have a fresh selection of Shanghai gifts to bring home.
The Shanghai Commercial Association and the Shanghai Tourism Industry Association have recently unveiled a new collection of branded products known as Shanghai gifts. From a pool of 670 items submitted by 208 enterprises, 421 products have been selected to receive the 2024 Shanghai gifts designation.
This latest batch brings the total number of Shanghai gifts to 635, across three categories celebrating Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage, offering a blend of nostalgia and modern flair.
Items range from fridge magnets featuring masterpieces of painters such as Wu Guanzhong, to embroidery cultural creations and tea sets reflecting the city’s cultural legacy. For those seeking a taste of Shanghai, the selection includes traditional delicacies by the city’s century-old brands and the iconic “Shanghai” coffee series. Modern and trendy cultural products also feature prominently in the new collection, including the Pop Mart Cool Shanghai series and retro radios from Lego.

Currently, Shanghai gifts are available at specialty stores and counters in locations such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the East Building of the Shanghai Museum, and the First Food Store, with more planned on East Nanjing Road, Shanghai Book City, Pudong International Airport, and Hongqiao Railway Station. Consumers can also purchase Shanghai gifts through the “上海礼物” WeChat mini-program.
