Hangzhou will begin construction of the China Cloud Valley on Oct 30, which will become an industrial landmark focused on intelligent cloud computing and propel the city’s digital economy to new heights.
The project is led by the Hangzhou Chengxi Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor Management Committee and will support the city’s strategy for a second major growth phase in digital innovation.
The valley will be organized around foundational, core, and application layers. The foundational layer will develop essential software, hardware, and network infrastructure, and will lay a solid groundwork for the core layer, which will focus on deepening industry offerings. The application layer will drive intelligent cloud applications across industries, public services, and governance.
The project is anchored in computing power innovation, intelligent computing cloud industry, and smart applications. By 2026, the valley aims to establish national labs and technology platforms within the corridor, advance key technologies, attract top talent, and grow intelligent cloud services to over 550 billion yuan ($77.13 billion).
Additionally, the valley will build a robust ecosystem for data-driven innovation that integrates computing power, algorithms, and data. This ecosystem will foster high-impact applications, model demonstrations, and cutting-edge AI advancements.
