Shanghai’s Jing’an district demonstrated its commitment to fostering a world-class business environment for foreign companies at the 2024 Jing’an District Foreign Partner Service Season and American Enterprise Roundtable held Oct 12 at Park Avenue Central.

The event, attended by government officials and representatives from prominent US companies, highlighted the district’s dedication to attracting foreign investment and supporting existing businesses.

Zhai Lei, head of Jing’an, emphasized the district’s longstanding openness to foreign investment. With over 6,000 foreign-invested enterprises and more than 100 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, the Jing’an boasts the highest foreign tax revenue among Shanghai’s central districts. He underscored the district’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a stable, transparent, and supportive business environment characterized by streamlined communication, comprehensive services, and a dedicated professional team.

“Shanghai’s door will open wider, its environment will become better, and its services will be more optimized,” said He Dongbin, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, highlighting the city’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and deepening collaboration with US companies. He encouraged more US companies to expand their presence in Shanghai and leverage the city’s advantages as a global business hub.

During the roundtable discussion, representatives from US companies shared insights into their operations, future development plans, and suggestions for enhancing the business environment in Jing’an. District officials actively engaged with the participants, addressing their queries and demonstrating a proactive approach to resolving business concerns.
