Shanghai’s parks witnessed a remarkable surge in footfall during the National Day Holiday, with a staggering 5.52 million visitors exploring the city’s green spaces, as reported by the Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Bureau.
The Shanghai Expo Culture Park emerged as the top destination, drawing over 500,000 trips during the week-long holiday period. Notably, the newly unveiled Twin Hills and the enchanting Greenhouse Garden located in the park’s southern section emerged as the most sought-after attractions. Around 68,000 people embarked on the climb up the Twin Hills, while the Greenhouse Garden welcomed over 52,000 visitors.
In addition to the Shanghai Expo Culture Park’s popularity, other prominent green spaces in the city also experienced a surge in visitors during the holiday period. The Shanghai Zoo welcomed a total of 162,092 guests, while the tranquil oasis of Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park attracted 106,204 visitors.
