Shanghai’s two major airports, Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport, experienced record-breaking passenger traffic during the recent National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, according to the Shanghai Airport Authority.
The airports handled a total of 16,000 flights, an 8.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Pudong airport hosted 11,000 flights, while Hongqiao airport managed 5,000.
