China Eastern Airlines received its eighth C919 jetliner from manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corp of China, or COMAC, on Monday afternoon in Shanghai, ensuring its fleet of C919s continues to expand, according to the Shanghai-based carrier that is the first global customer of the C919.

In accordance with the schedule, the new jet will start to carry out commercial flights during the week-long National Day holiday, said China Eastern.

As the first customer and operator of China’s first self-developed narrow-body jet, China Eastern has received four C919 aircraft so far this year.
