China will implement a visa-free policy for the citizens of Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Slovenia from Oct 15, 2024 to Dec 31, 2025, the Foreign Ministry announced on Sept 30.
The move means that nationals from these four countries are eligible to stay in China for up to 15 days for tourism, business, visiting relatives and friends, and transit purposes without the need to apply for a visa.
The four countries are the latest to gain visa-free access to China, as the country seeks to boost its tourism and trade.
Since the end of last year, China has rolled out a raft of policies to make it easier for international travelers to visit, including visa-free entry for passport holders of more than 20 countries and 72/144-hour visa-free transit for citizens from 54 countries.
