On Sept 23, exactly one year after the opening of the Asian Games, the Hangzhou Asian Games Brand Promotion Association held its inaugural meeting, electing Chen Weiqiang, the executive secretary of the Asian Games Organizing Committee and vice-mayor of Hangzhou, as its first president.

The meeting emphasized the event’s success, which has enriched Hangzhou with both material and spiritual wealth, injecting new vitality into the city’s long-term development. The association aims to explore the cultural significance of the Asian Games, enhance its impact, and foster cooperation with domestic and international organizations and brands.

Chen highlighted that the establishment of such associations post-event is a common international practice. The association will focus on resource integration, brand promotion, and international collaboration while emphasizing social responsibility and a positive brand image.

Following the meeting, attendees enjoyed a large-scale performance titled Xianghu Elegance, which revisited memorable moments from the Asian Games opening ceremony. The formation of the association marks a milestone in promoting the Asian Games spirit and advancing its legacy, ensuring a bright future for Hangzhou.
