The 2023 Rule of Law Construction Evaluation in Guangdong has recently been released, with Guangzhou securing the top spot for the fourth year in a row thanks to its endeavors to strengthen foreign legal affairs.
Guangzhou convened a conference on the development of legal affairs concerning foreign relations on Aug 28. During the meeting, it was emphasized that over the past year, Guangzhou has sought to come into alignment with key national strategies, including the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Nansha.
The mechanisms for foreign legal affairs have been further optimized, work on significant platforms in this area has been expedited, services for enterprises going global have become more precise, the cultivation of talents in foreign legal affairs has been strengthened, and an effective and locally distinctive system for foreign legal affairs has been established in Guangzhou.
Eleven institutions in Guangzhou have been recognized on the national list of exemplary foreign legal service organizations, placing them at the forefront of the province. Additionally, the city has established the country’s first Bay Area lawyer practice incubation station, the Bay Area lawyer work committee, and the foreign lawyer academy.
