Guangzhou Ulink International School (GUIS) opened on Aug 22 in Nansha district, marking a significant milestone as the first school in Guangzhou tailored to the educational needs of children from returning overseas talents.
More than 1,300 students started the new school year at the newly established campus, representing a major achievement in Nansha’s education.
The school boasts a diverse faculty hailing from different regions worldwide, including Europe, the Americas, and East Asia, with over 70 percent being international teachers. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 7:1, the school is committed to providing an authentic international educational experience to its students.
The school has expanded its admission criteria to include children of returning overseas talents, along with foreign nationals and residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. This extension aims to enhance Nansha’s appeal to high-end talents, thereby optimizing the international talent ecosystem and fostering a high-quality, business-friendly environment in Nansha.
Guangzhou’s educational system currently incorporates over 1,600 international teachers, along with more than 9,000 international students and over 18,000 students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
The city hosts 18 schools for children of foreign nationals, three for students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as 16 high school cooperative programs with foreign countries, totaling 17 projects.
Guangzhou has made significant strides in developing a comprehensive international education system from kindergarten to high school, encompassing both public and private initiatives.
