Recently, an American teacher from a Chinese University named Emily Jane O’Dell (Emily) aroused public attention because he violated the epidemic prevention and control regulations of the local government and made racist remarks on overseas social media《 The reporter of Global Times learned from the police of Danba County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan on the 6th that Emily had previously been a teacher of Pittsburgh College of Sichuan University. On August 4, Emily violated the epidemic prevention and control regulations and had a dispute with the staff. That night, she made false and racist remarks on social media.
On August 12, Pittsburgh College of Sichuan University decided to dismiss him because of the adverse impact of his words and deeds. According to the relevant provisions of Article 81 of the exit and Entry Administration Law of the people’s Republic of China, Emily left Shanghai and returned to the United States on September 2.
