One of Beijing’s best-loved charities is having an amazing event that will make you feel great about day drinking! Furry Tales Animal Rescue is a nonprofit started by expats Elizabeth “Ellie” Rodewald and Sorcha Moore-Smith back in December 2021 to rescue abandoned animals in Beijing and eventually find them their “furr”-ever homes. They sponsor adoption days, arrange and support short-term foster parents and of course provide for a new rescue’s medical needs. You can find out more about the charity in this interview our sister site jingkids International did last year.
Not all of us who want to support are able to adopt or foster, however, so this coming Saturday, Furry Tales will host a fundraiser to help with the medical and boarding expenses of new rescues. All you have to do to save the puppies is have a drink. Well, actually, you need to have seven.
Pinotage in Shunyi is hosting a wine tasting with food pairing on Sat, Mar 8, at 2pm with proceeds going to Furry Tales. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon meeting new and interesting people while doing some good for our community, but act fast as their last event sold out.
