Hangzhou’s traditional block paintings displayed in Singapore

On February 1, Hangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition was held at Suntec City Mall in Singapore. There are the traditional techniques of Hangzhou on display, such as silk umbrellas, fans and woodblock printing.

Hangzhou’s woodblock painting is a highlight. Huang Xiaojian, the 72-year-old craftsman, makes woodblock paintings on the site. Golden Snake Celebrating Spring Festival, the woodblock painting specially designed by him, is highly praised, and about 300 paintings are given away. Huang Jiecheng, the son of Huang Xiaojian, conducts the modern adaptation for woodblock paintings to attract younger generation.

They are dedicated to globally promoting the traditional art of China. Huang Xiaojian has returned to Hangzhou, and Huang Jiecheng will attend the Lantern Festival activities in Malta and Sweden to continue to share Chinese culture.
